![]() I get that fans may want to defend TFP in this and its great they treat the pc gamers well enough to muster that loyalty but imagine if they stopped updating the pc version 2 years ago but the console version was still getting updates.how annoyed would you be? What we know so far is that the rights to the assets were sold at auction to an unknown entity. I get that fans may want to defend TFP in this and its great they treat the pc gamers well enough to muster that loyalty but imagine if they stopped updating the pc version 2 years ago but the console version was still getting updates.how annoyed would you be? I am enjoying the pc version, but I really shouldnt play it too much as the ps4 version will never be updated and that is the version I can play with my real world friends. But truth is they do not care about the console gamers, so we are stuck on patch 13(again according to the wiki as its called something different on ps4.1.18) So TFP has already closed thier licences agreement with Telltale, if they really did care about their customers they would of found a new console publisher by now. The console ports have not received any updates since December 2017." Since then, and as of June 2019, no official public information about the status of the game's publishing rights of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has been released by The Fun Pimps or Telltale Games. A statement by The Fun Pimps on November 13, 2018, via their official online forum stated “upon hearing the news, The Fun Pimps immediately terminated its license agreement with Telltale, which only allowed publishing rights on the console ports of the 7 Days to Die game.” They went on to say that this “also severed Telltale's rights to any future updates or sequels of the 7 Days to Die franchise.” "On September 21, 2018, Telltale Games abruptly laid off most of its staff due to financial problems, and on October 11, 2018, began liquidating its assets through Sherwood Partners. Telltale were the publishers not the developers Then Telltale went bankrupt but is still sitting on the console rights to 7 Days To Die. Telltale Games was the publisher and has the rights to 7 Days To Die on console (Iron Galaxy was the developer doing the port?). Originally posted by baddoggs:From what i understand TFP are currently fighting in court to regain the console rights. It was also a little to remind them they have paying customers still pissed at being abandoned on console. Now why did I take the time to do this? Because it's an alpha build and feedback is essential to developers in alpha. This doesn't make up for the simplification of game mechanics but is good. I was also complimenty them on the newer world gen. I was wondering why the developers chose to simplify gameplay in that way. It is a bizarre thing to change and feels like a downgrade. My point is that the leveling of stats by doing is much more fun then simply dropping points as you level. If you're not familiar with the terms Alpha, Beta, and Gold I suggest a session with Google. So lots of things are subject to change, and will again when Alpha 18 hits. The game will continue to morph until TFP are satisfied with what they have and go to Beta. The game has gone through changes in the subsequent Alpha versions. The title's PC version is currently in development in Steam Early Access.Originally posted by Trooper Bri:The console version was nothing more than an Alpha version (minus some stuff). That's what we know so far about 7 Days to Die's Alpha 21 release date. ![]() We'll know for sure when we get official word on the matter, and we'll be sure to update this article as soon as that happens. A more likely scenario is that we'll see it dropping at some point later in 2023.Īt the same time, the developer has worked on expanding its team, which could see the pace of updates pick up. This makes it very likely that we won't see 7 Days to Die's Alpha 21 release date before Q2 2023, but expecting it to launch then feels a bit optimistic. ![]() ![]() New major updates have dropped roughly once per year in recent memory, smaller subsequent additions bringing fixes and additional polish. Looking back at how often the title was updated over the past couple of years, we're led to believe that we have a fairly lengthy wait ahead of us. With the last content drop so fresh in everyone's memory and a holiday break shortly following it, the developer hasn't revealed much about when we can expect it. Unfortunately, the 7 Days to Die Alpha 21 release date is unknown at the moment.
